Lactation Consultation Services — Fairfield & Westchester County, CT
The gift of breastfeeding … for the parents and the baby
Breastfeeding can be one of the most beautiful and connecting experiences of early parenthood. It can also be one of the most challenging. If you are struggling — with pain, with latch, with supply, with a baby who fusses at the breast or a body that doesn’t seem to be doing what you expected — please know that you are not alone, and that help is closer than you might think.
Patricia has been supporting breastfeeding families since 1990. In that time she has helped hundreds of mothers navigate the early weeks and months of feeding their babies — through the difficult nights, the conflicting advice, the moments of doubt, and the small but significant victories. She understands how much it matters to you, and she will meet you exactly where you are.

Home visit lactation consultations
For new clients, Patricia offers home visits — scheduled within 24 hours of your call — so that support comes to you at a time when leaving the house with a newborn can feel like a significant undertaking in itself.
A home visit lasts approximately 90 minutes and is unhurried and comprehensive. Together you will cover:
- Your pregnancy, birth and feeding history — and whatever is on your mind
- Hands-on support with feeding, positioning and latch
- A pre and post-feed weight check to assess how much milk your baby is transferring
- A written plan to take away, so you have something to refer back to in those bleary 3am moments
- A conversation about your baby’s feeding patterns and what to expect in the days and weeks ahead
- Ongoing support by phone or email for as long as breastfeeding needs it
There is no rush, no checklist to get through, and no such thing as a question too small. This time is for you and your baby.

Something no other lactation consultant can offer
Patricia is the first person in the world to hold both the International Board Certification in Lactation Consulting (IBCLC) and the Diplomate certification in CranioSacral Therapy (CST-D).
In practice, this means she can see feeding difficulties from an angle that other consultants simply cannot reach.
When breastfeeding is a struggle — when latch looks right on the surface but something still isn’t working — the cause is sometimes structural. Tension in a baby’s jaw, neck or the base of their skull from birth can make the mechanics of feeding genuinely harder. A mother’s own body, holding stress or tension from a difficult pregnancy or birth, can affect her milk flow in ways that have nothing to do with technique.
Patricia can address both. In sessions where feeding is a concern, she will often work with mother and baby together — using CranioSacral therapy alongside lactation support to get to the root of what is making feeding difficult, rather than simply managing the surface symptoms.
If you have tried everything and still can’t find your way through, this may be the piece that has been missing.
Breastfeeding education and support
One of the things that makes breastfeeding harder than it needs to be is the sheer volume of information — and misinformation — that new parents are bombarded with. Well-meaning advice from family, conflicting guidance from healthcare providers, and the relentless noise of the internet can leave you more confused than when you started.
Patricia’s role is to help you find your way through all of that. She will help you separate fact from myth, understand what your body is doing and why, and make the decisions that are right for you and your family — without pressure or judgement in either direction.
You can find some common breastfeeding myths on Patricia’s resources page — a good starting point if you’re not sure what to believe.
Ongoing postpartum support
Patricia remains available to all families in her practice on an ongoing basis. Whether you have a question at six days or six months, whether things are going well and you just want reassurance, or whether something has shifted and you need support — she is here. Breastfeeding is a relationship that evolves, and the support around it should too.
Newborn Assessment
Patricia is not a physician or a nurse, but her decades of experience working with newborns have given her a careful, trained eye. As part of a lactation consultation she will assess your baby’s overall wellbeing — including their colour, hydration, nutritional status, neurological and respiratory comfort, oral anatomy, and structural development. She weighs most of the babies she sees.
This holistic assessment means that if something needs attention beyond the scope of lactation support, Patricia will tell you — clearly, kindly, and with appropriate guidance on next steps.
Remote consultations
For families who are unable to attend in person, Patricia offers remote consultations by phone or video. While some aspects of a consultation are best done face to face, many questions and concerns can be addressed effectively at a distance — and for established clients, remote follow-up is always available.
Please note that fees apply for remote and telephone consultations. Full details are available on the FAQ page.
